Las Vegas Golden Knights

The Las Vegas Golden Knights continue to set record after record this season. I looked at this team and was amazed at the talent that they have. They definitely picked up some good players in this year's expansion draft. With everything that goes on in Las Vegas, you would think it would be a total distraction. Obviously, people like myself was wrong about that. What stays in Vegas definitely isn't staying in Vegas because the Golden Knights have been winning games and taking names.

The Golden Knights were the first expansion team ever to win their division when they won the Pacific Division over the Anaheim Ducks by 8 points. They also became the first NHL team to make the playoffs in its inaugural season since the 1979-1980 season when the Edmonton Oilers and Hartford Whalers joined the league as part of its merger with the WHA (World Hockey Association). In the Golden Knights first playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings, they dismantled the team like they stole something by taking a broom and sweeping them home winning the series 4 games to 0. The Golden Knights became the first franchise to sweep a postseason series in its inaugural season in NHL history. They are also the first team to move to the second round of the playoffs this postseason.

Before the playoffs started, I saw the Golden Knights only reaching the Western Conference Finals. The way they dominated the Kings in these four games, I can see them winning the West and going to the Stanley Cup Finals representing the Western Conference. They have that ability because of their goaltender Marc-André Fleury. Fleury knows what it's like playing in the playoffs and on a championship team because he was the goaltender for Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins when they won the Stanley Cup three times(2009, 2016, 2017). Fleury and goaltender Jonathan Quick of the Kings are two of the best goalies in the NHL, but in this series, Fleury was better. Now we will see what Fleury and his Golden Knights do against the San Jose Sharks in the second round since they swept the Anaheim Ducks 4 games to 0 to make it to the second round. If the Golden Knights continue this play in the playoffs, the Nashville Predators better watch out cuz Las Vegas will be coming for them if they meet up in the Western Conference Finals.
